Hungary's first perlite quarry is located in Pálháza. The quarry has been in operation since 1959. The milling, drying and sieving of perlite effects in the preparation plant near to the quarry, according to the demand of the customers. Perlit-92 Ltd. has opened its second mine in 2006, which ensures raw perlite supply for 80 years period. Perlit ’92 Ltd. exports 90% of the perlite grades produced, and delivers it to 18 countries regularly. Most important foreign markets are Germany, Austria and Poland.Main part of products is transported in bulk with 25 t trucks and 25 t silo trucks, by railway with special, closed railway wagons of 51 t and 62 t capacity. Transports are also possible in containers; paper bags and different types of big-bags can be used for packing.
