The Materials Science Institute of Sevilla (ICMS) is a joint-centre of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Seville (US) founded in June 1986. , Together with another two Institutes -- the IIQ (Institute for Chemical Research) and the IBVF (Institute for Plant Biology and Photosynthesis)-- constitute the ”Isla de la Cartuja Research Centre” (cicCartuja), which is located in the “Cartuja 93” scientific and technological park. At present, the scientific personnel comprises more than 150 people, 107 of them PhDs in Chemistry, Physics and Material Science .

  • ICMS_P1.- Synthesis and characterization of tailor-made clays as support for energy management ICMS_ P2.- Preparation and characterization of bionanocomposites for environmental protection ICMS_ P3.- Design, simulation and Manufacture of optofluidic resonant sensing platforms, based on multilayer 1D photonic crystals, for the detection of specific biomarkers ICMS_P4.- Preparation and Characterization of Ca-based materials for the thermochemical storage of solar energy, by different methods (ball-milling, co-precipitation, lyophilization and 3D printing).
