Statement of Purpose One of the most significant decisions in life is the choice of career which for me has emanated from my careful analysis and planning. I have a constant urge to learn and explore, an ambition to become a researcher, a desire to be a part of growing technological world and contribute to its development. The advancement in materials & technology that my generation experienced over the past decade have greatly shaped the desires for the future generations and changed lifestyles completely. From a young age I had always been interested in the chemistry of materials and how they were engineered. Getting admission in Metallurgy & Materials engineering degree from a renowned university such as university of the Punjab was like a dream came true for me. My time at university helped me gain new skills and become active socially and academically. I did not only focus on my studies but also actively participated in cultural and sports events hosted in my university. Academically speaking I am very much adept at courses on material especially corrosion which was a turning point for me to do my final year project under the guidance of Dr. Ameeq Farooq in corrosion control lab. My final year project titled “Effect of nickel concentration in Zn-Ni Alloy electroplating on mild steel” was a success and received appreciation from our supervisors. We successfully managed to develop a coating on our alloy substrate. This coating exhibited superb corrosive resistant properties which was seen from our results of Tafel scan and backed up the microscopic study from XRD, SEM and AFM. Working in Corrosion Control Lab helped me come in contact with various material characterization equipment and motivated me to pursue not only a Master’s degree but also a doctoral professional degree from abroad. I wanted to step ahead of my peers and wanted to gain professional experience as well to better understand the world we would be entering after graduation. This is why I did 2 internships, the first at Inspectest Private Limited and the latter at Health and Safety Engineering (HSE). After graduation, I also worked as a research assistant at the university of punjab. T This institute provides me to fulfill all the objectives that I have to achieve during my master’s study. This organization offers me interaction and working in these top-notch labs, provides me with cultural diversity, and harbors long-lasting friendships
