Motivation letter (max. 1500 characters with spaces) During my chemical engineering degree, I gained insights into various industries, identifying areas with significant material waste and energy recovery. My focus centered on recycling throughout this period and I collaborated with UNESCO on a project for converting PET bottles and styrofoam into bricks. Later, my internship at Attock Oil Refinery exposed me to substantial waste generation and hence for my final thesis, I explored the gasification of oil sludge to derive syngas and recover hydrogen. This focus on sustainability has led me to pursue a master's in materials recycling. Currently, I am seeking additional hands-on experience in recycling, energy, and life cycle assessment. The company will provide me with practical insights into comprehensive recycling throughout the product life cycle, complementing my prior waste management experience. I am looking forward to applying my knowledge of LCA to evaluate the environmental impact of products and services within the company. I'm passionate about identifying areas that might have a negative impact on the environment and exploring ways to reduce carbon emissions. I anticipate enhancing my project management abilities through the completion of assigned projects. Ultimately, I aim to leverage these acquired skills in the future which will help me in taking research and development roles in engineering consulting firms dedicated to recycling and hence contribute to closing the material loop. |
