GEOGOLD KÁRPÁTIA Ltd. provides services in geological, hydrogeological and environmental projects and has gained extensive experience in the field of near-surface geophysical surveys and water research. As the legal successor of GeoGold 2002 LP, founded in 2002, the company started its activities in 2005 with highly experienced geologists and geophysicists. Innovation in water research – Utilising of new and improved hydrogeological - geophysical surveying methods in semi-arid, karstic and porous environments Over the past ten years we have both purchased and developed geophysical instruments for water management and civil engineering services. Our most important projects are related to the research of groundwater reservoirs and the protection of their quality. Measurements up to 1000 m depth, but most often to 200-300 m, are undertaken for industrial and public water supply purposes. We have been involved in the diagnostic investigation of more than 50 vulnerable water resources. These methods are also suitable for the examination of karstic formations. The advantage of geophysical investigations is that we can provide fracture or tectonic structure maps of sedimentary or karstic areas in a cost-effective way. We have used geoelectric, electromagnetic, magnetic and seismic near-surface geophysical methods in water research projects in Hungary, Italy, Romania, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovakia and Tanzania. Our services cover not only the exploration phase but the drilling and supervision of monitoring and production wells, in-situ and accredited water sampling and analysis. Engineering geophysics - Use of various engineering geophysical methods for geotechnical planning of linear establishments, hydraulic and civil engineering Geotechnical and detailed lithological data are needed to aid the designing process of bridges, roads, tunnels and buildings. Acquisition of these kinds of data and utility mappings is possible with geophysical methods in a non-invasive way. We provide high-resolution geophysical services for acquisition of geotechnically essential parameters of the subsurface even in remote areas and harsh conditions. Such measurements concern primarily lithological structures and soil quality, determining electrical resistivity distributions, various EM parameters and elastic parameters (Young modulus and Poisson’s ratio) for pre-planning evaluation and planning. We use the following geophysical methods: Geoelectrical surveys with static and dynamic – onshore and offshore Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) and Vertical Electric Sounding (VES) methods Induced polarization surveys Electromagnetic surveys with Very Low Frequency (VLF), Radio Magneto-Telluric (RMT) and Slingram methods Geomagnetic surveys with Cesium-vapor and Proton-precession magnetometer. Reflection and Refraction Seismic surveys Ground Penetrating Radar with 100, 500 and 800 MHz antenna
